Our town and small community located just at the outskirts of Sydney truly reflects the view that farming is not only an industry or a business but it is a lifestyle that people love and choose to follow. Regardless of whether one is a fruit grower, vegetable farmer or engage in livestock, residents of this town share similar lifestyles given their basic and strong intimate connection to their land or their animals. The result is a small, strong, close-knit, and blissful communityof farmers who understand each other's way of life and share many similar values especially when it comes to their line of work.
Our town has also a support system, which allows the sharing of resource of knowledge and assistance when it comes to equipment and other farming technologies. As our community is dedicated in advocating and following environmentally friendly farming and practices, farmers are taking effort to educate themselves with the knowledge and methods that ensure guiding principle is adhere to. For instance, our farmers try to be self-sufficient when it comes to their supply of fertilizers. There are also groups that actively extend assistance to help our farmer’s practice organic farming more and avoid the use of toxic chemicals harmful to both people and the environment.
Finally, our town never forgets to be thankful for the abundance it receives each year and this is how Hopkins Raspberry Festival came about. This annual event is our way to thanking the Almighty for bounty of the land He provided as well as to look forward to another productive year. This is also a moment for the people in our community to showcase to its visitors the wonderful fruits of their labor.
Knowing that there are other similar towns out there worldwide, hopkinsraspberryfestival.com is created as our way of acknowledging our fellow farmers in other parts of the planet and sharing to others details about their towns and communities as well.
