Fruit festivals are pretty much celebrated all around the world and here is a list and information about these wonderful events:
Apple Butter Festival at Riley's at Los Rios Rancho
This event held in California during the Thanksgiving weekend, from 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m. each day. The Apple Butter Festival is free to the public and includes activities such hands-on demonstration of the traditional method of apple butter making r, outdoor pioneer games, and an event called the “Lighting of the Ranch” when the giant pines at the ranch’s entrance will be illuminated at dusk to welcome in the Christmas season.
Johnny Appleseed Days Festival
This annual event is held in Paradise, California during Saturday and Sunday in October celebrating and remembering John Chapman also known Johnny Appleseed, who traveled across the U.S most of his life planting and encouraging settlers to plant apples. This festival can be traced back to 1880.
McLoud Blackberry Festival
This festival, which is held during the month of July in Oklahoma, USA began in the 1940's as a celebration of the end of harvest season for the local cash farm crop, blackberries. It continues to be an exciting event for the town up to these days drawing thousands of attendees from throughout the US.
Red, White and Blueberry Bash
The festival held in June at Portland Oregon highlights and celebrates the bounty, flavor, health benefits and diversity of berries grown in this region. The event offers 1,000 complimentary fresh berry shortcakes bluegrass music, and chef demonstrations featuring sweet creations with berries.
Penticton Peach Festival
Held annually in August at Okanagan Lake Park, Penticton, BC, Canada, this festival, which first began in 1947, celebrates the peach harvest in the area. The festival will last for 5 days and will include live entertainments and events such as bands, dancers, martial arts demonstrations, hypnotist shows, arts and crafts exhibits, parades, and a Square Dance Festival among others.
This local festival, which is already over 30 years old, is held in Cambridge, England early in June. It offers music, entertainments, and arts and crafts among others. Strawberry Fair has now become one of largest, free, open-air festivals in the UK.
